Fulgurite tends to have an irregular shape, making measurements of dimensions somewhat arbitrary.
Instead, I have photographed them on a background with about a 3/4" square grid. Yellow label is 1.5 x 2" wide.
Horizontally, four pink blocks is about 3". For close-up detail of grain, see Series D photos.
Orange is lichen on the outside. Please ask if you need more information on any item.

Fulgurite C-1
$24

A handsome specimen that is sure to attract the eye of your rockhound friends (just make sure it doesn’t also attract their fingers and their pocket. Long, slender, with a nice sinuous shape. The outer surface is studded with an interesting contrast of white rocks and charred (black) rocks. There are some tiny branch nubs. The two ends expose some small bubbles and white, black, clear and green glasses.

About 2 1/2" x 3/4"

Fulgurite C-1

Fulgurite C-2
$24

This interesting piece has a lot going on … a fun specimen to spin around and around, enjoying all the curious details. It shows really nice charring. Great rocks embedded all over the outer surface, some at odd angles, and even what looks like small pieces of mica (although they could be artifacts from later contact with parent soil as the fulgurite weathered out). There are several short branch stubs and white and clear glasses, plus a hint of green. One end has a nice, large, open bubble.

About 2 1/2" x 1"

Fulgurite C-2

Fulgurite C-3
$24

A sturdy classic cylinder, showing good charring and a nice variety of rock grain sizes on the outside. The two ends expose a nice collection of bubbles of medium and small size, lined with white and clear glasses, and a bit of black. This one could survive being handled by eager children (or colleagues), who ought to be able to easily see the major features and understand how it was formed.

About 2 1/4" x 1 1/4"

Fulgurite C-3

Fulgurite C-4
$38

A Lovely specimen! Long and slender, with an interesting slight curve, and many small branch nubs. All of it shows great charring, looks like it was formed yesterday. White and clear glasses and some small bubbles exposed. The large end has a pair of large rocks fused to the outer surface, one of them is larger than the diameter of the fulgurite. A nice scattering of smaller rocks grains stud the rest of the curiously fine-grained shell.

About 2 3/4" x 3/4"

Fulgurite C-4

Fulgurite C-5
$24

This is a nice solid cylinder with small bubbles and white, clear, and a little black glass exposed at either end. It has a curious flat glassy area on the outer surface where the usual rock and sand grains did not adhere, leaving the glass visible, including a line of brown glass. This specimen also has a large embedded rock (1.5” x .5”) of the parent material, part of it still pink.

About 2" x 1"

Fulgurite C-5

Fulgurite C-6
$28

A winner! This specimen is unusually pale, all white and the palest grey. Even the glasses are paler than usual, mostly white and clear, with just a splash of black here and there. Two large bubbles and many small bubbles. One end is the fork where the fulgurite split from one to two branch.

About 1 1/2" x 1"

Fulgurite C-6

Fulgurite C-7
$10

Flattened branch segment.

Fulgurite of this type is more typically round in cross section, so this branch probably formed in soil that was not uniform (some of it fused, some of it didn't).

It is about 2" long, shows glass and bubbles at both ends, and has some small included cobble.

Fulgurite C-8
$16

A nice bulbous end-cap termination. Some nice white and clear glass is exposed in bubbles where this piece separated from the rest of the fulgurite branch. The rounded termination has nice white rock grains and has grey areas with a very fine-grained (and unusual) texture. Includes some bright orange lichen.

About 2" x 1 1/2"

Fulgurite C-8

Fulgurite C-9
$38

This sturdy simple cylinder has a treat for you – a beautifully glassed central tube that runs the entire length of the fulgurite. Yes, you can see through it – neat! The larger glassy expanses on this one are all clear glass (some with a hint of green), but there are small pieces of black and white glass in spots. Nice variation in rock grain size on the shell, some charring.

About 1 3/4" x 1"

Fulgurite C-9

Fulgurite C-10
$24

A lovely fat cylinder nearly of the “B” size. It has wonderful charring along one face and a noticeable larger branch nub with two open bubbles. There is a curious large, but thin slab of a grey rock fused to the shell – it looks like this piece spalled off a larger rock as the fulgurite formed next to it. Good white, black and clear glasses, and large open bubbles in either end.

About 2" x 1 1/4"

Fulgurite C-10

Fulgurite C-11
$7

This very curious flattened specimen is either an unusual branch truncation or a fragment of the outer shell of a massive fulgurite section.

It displays a fine gradation in particle size and a variation of exposed, glass-lined bubbles.

About 2.5" x 1.5"

Fulgurite C-12
$28

A truly superb bubble is inset in one end, very large (wide and deep), clean, lined with glossy glass. In other places there are exposures of white, black and clear glasses. This specimen also includes an impressively large rock fused into the outer shell, it measures around 1.25” x .75” x .25”. There is one short branch stub.

About 2 1/4" x 1"

Fulgurite C-12

Fulgurite C-13
$22

Nicely exposed white and clear glasses, with a hint of green in small bubbles at either end. There are several very nice large and charred chunks of parent rock fused into the entire length of one side. It almost seems as if the electrical charge passed near enough alongside a larger rock that the act of fusing the fulgurite fractured the nearest surface of the rock loose. One minor branch nub.

About 2 1/4" x 1"

Fulgurite C-13
